THE RANDOMNESS

Nothing says DC rock like this fucking track by Hoover. over 7 minutes long ending in screams and agony!! I love this song.

Hoover - Cuts like Drugs

So around for like one record, this features members of the Chromatics and the Blood Brothers and the Gossip, then they became the Soiled Doves, this song was more melodic than the rest of the record. I really like this track.. Now you shall..

the Vogue - Brass and Satin

A great name for a band. Not a great band in my opinion but this song totally showed their potential. I saw them a few times with At the Drive-in. Great song though!

Pretty Girls Make Graves - Speakers Push the Air

God, I love this band, and honestly this entire genre. What shall we call it? The Louisville sound? Kentuckmo? the 1/4stick / TG sound! Whatever it’s called, it’s fuckin’ 11 minutes long and great. I feel like it’s a musician’s band (even though I am not a musician) and when it comes on the random!! I love it!

June of 44 - Sharks and Sailors

Just a great old Ska song from one of my favorites of the genre.

the Specials - Ghost Town

SO first KIX then this?? I know I know. My random made me remember what a great rock song this was and how cool DL was before all that Sugar pouring!!

Def Leppard - Mirror Mirror (Look into my Eyes)

I met someone while I was DJing who was super into DC rock, what a breath of fresh air that it wasn’t a Britney request… Then yesterday as I walked around, I heard this song on the ‘random’..

Bluetip - Join Us

My friend Joey turned me on to this band, check them out if you like most of the other shit I post on this site (aka dischord, krank and other labels of yesteryear) …

Eyes of Autumn - The Air is Concrete and Hard To Breathe

A great hit from Amore del Tropico from this San Diego band, the Black Heart Procession… Would be a great song for a soundtrack, don’t you think??

the Black Heart Procession - Did you Wonder?

the jukebox hit this little ditty with much surprise today:

Social Distortion - Pretty in Pink (P. Furs Cover)

Enjoy.
