So there’s two records this week. I love them both so I figured i’d include both of them.. Big shocker, At the Drive in is featured in this one. As most of you know, probably my favorite band of all time, check out these two releases, my favorite 45s by them.. Also if you aren’t aware of this, the singer and guitarist of At the Drive-in now are the main two players behind The Mars Volta.

WHY IT’S SPECIAL:
DAMN just look at the picture disc. The artwork is great and the song is actually better. I have three of these records lying around, along with an Alkaline Trio one that looks just like it…

The other split record is individually hand painted and must have been sold out in no time.

so a quick story..

walking around the subway today, Sharks and Sailors came on my greatest hits playlist on my IPOD ™ and I thought to myself, like I do a bit, about how I want to post this song cause I fucking love it.

However, when I get home I type this sentence…”A band that is so underrated and rarely talked about….” and before I finish it, I figured I would quickly do a search for June Of 44 on Hype Machine to see how often the blogs talk about them. (the search is HERE.)

There are 8 different posts about June of 44. Five of them are me. Including a posting called The RANDOMNESS- June of 44 with the song Sharks and Sailors on it. (oops, I guess great ideas are quite often thought twice..) (find that HERE.)

Anyway, the cool thing I did find, was a live show from 95 HERE. Go Captain’s Dead!!!

So I am sure most of you saw my Rant from the other day..

Anyway, I quick follow up to the story;

after almost 2 hours on the phone with AT&t and 4 operators later, someone said they would be willing to give me the same phone (they didn’t seem to notice that this one had already broken 4 times) for 150.00, with a 100 dollar rebate. And after some debate I got them to credit my account the other 50 dollars.

Not after they got me to sign ANOTHER 2 year contract.

So still no real upgrade and the same phone but at least it comes with ANOTHER year warranty.
Ugh.

The guys who do Comedy Death-Ray every Tuesday night at The UCB Theatre gave me the show. And I booked it with the people who made the biggest impact on me in my 21 year-career. Blaine Capatch is hosting (just like he hosted my first-ever open mike, back in the summer of ’88). And the line-up includes Brian Posehn, Karen Kilgariff, Dana Gould and some surprises. I think the show might already be sold out, but why not go to www.ucbtheatre.com, and see if a ticket has fallen loose?

Then on Saturday, January 31st, at 9pm, I’m doing yet another PATTON OSWALT AND FRIENDS at The Largo on La Cienga.

If Tuesday’s show is me looking back and fondness, Saturday is me looking ahead with excitement. It’s me and a bunch of younger comedians you’ll be paying top dollar to see in a few years. Kyle Kinane, Michelle Biloon, Nick Kroll and a VERY BIG surprise. You’ll see.
