Caught the International Noise Conspiracy on tour with Sunny Day Real Estate in nowheresville Iowa in late 2000. The show blew my mind. They were the first ones doing… whatever they were doing. Spent the next 7 years wondering when they might come back around. Finally, in 2007 they announced a date in Minneapolis. I took my date and there was only about 7 other people at the show. I decided I was going to be a good fan and get really, really drunk to show them how much I cared. I danced around in front of the stage like a maniac for about 2 hours drinking a lot of gin and a little bit of tonic out of a burger king cup while they rocked my face off. I staggered back towards my car but got lost in Dinkytown for what felt like days. The girl I was with dumped me in the middle of the show and went and got engaged to the next guy she met. It was totally worth it and the slag did me a favor. I say…. do anything you can to be at that show.
