ESSENTIAL RECORDS: Bright Eyes - Fevers & Mirrors
Posted by Krist under MUSIC , MUSIC LINKS , MP3'S , ESSENTIAL RECORDSIn 2000, when he was only 20 years old, Conor Oberst aka Bright Eyes wrote this record. This, for me is the best record he’s ever done. For fans of singer songwriters and so forth. I love these songs.
Bright Eyes - The Calendar Hung Itself
Bright Eyes - A Song to Pass the Time
A B-Side from that era.
Bright Eyes - Jetsabel Removes the Undesirables

In general, the Internet was not designed to accommodate deliberate failures to communicate. It was designed to bring pornography to people who don’t like strangers selling them masturbation material.

This is definitely my favourite. It’s a real shame that I’ve only heard 2 songs from that album live. I’m gonna check out that bside.
have a nice weekend:)

Weird - I was just listening to this last night for the first time in probably a year.
This is definitely his greatest record. It would be perfect, if not for the bag of shit mock interview at the end, which almost negates the entire offering that precedes it. Ugh, that thing makes me so mad.
I used to think he was going to be “The Next Big Somebody Something-Something,” but I totally lost interest in him after seeing him tour the “Lifted” album - he acted like a total dipshit and exhibited nothing but disdain for his audience.
He’s obviously talented, but his histrionics make me want to eat glass. When he loses that “I’m about to cry” warble in his voice (which worked on his first couple albums but not so much now that he’s 35 or whatever), maybe I’ll come back to him. But till then, I just can’t take him seriously, even though I’d like to.
