yeah I always suspected that Ian was pretty nice. But sometimes when you're as talented as Damon is, most people will overlook whatever your personalty might lack.

Strangely enough, my comment is related to two of today's posts. Damon gave me a ride home from a Fugazi concert that ran later than the local buses did. We lugged Fugazi's equipment down three floors first. Anyway, he was always a little standoffish, but I never thought he was an outright dick, and I dealt with him tons of times, but this was in Pittsburgh, his home turf. Apparently you don't want to be in a band with him, though. Ian, the guitarist in Don Cab always seemed like a decent guy. Sadly, the last time I saw Don Cab was the last time I saw the Laughing Hyenas, too.

when i saw don cab on the "what burns" tour, Damon made a big scene out of his pre-show routine. he had to put on his Air Jordans and shorts (even though there was a back stage) and act all showy in front of everyone. but they used to be such a great band.

Nice props to Mr. Che. I like the comparison to a octoped, pretty accurate to me. I'm not so sure if he's a full blown asshole, but once I saw Don Cab and they just sat around backstage smoking cigarettes for about an hour and a half and then took the stage. Then Damon would drown on inbetween songs about whatever was rolling around in his head. at one point he told us that he got his drum set out of a dumpster and it wasn't the insturment at made the artist, but the artist that made the instrument. Funny stuff.
