ESSENTIAL RECORDS: Gameface – Cupcakes EP
Posted by Krist under ESSENTIAL RECORDS , MP3'S , MUSIC1 Comment
This installment of Essential Records features an EP that I love, from a band from SoCal named Gameface called “Cupcakes” from 1996. They were situated somewhere between two different genres (pop punk and emo). Ugh, I really hate using that word. Anyway, I wished that every record that this band put out had this much consistency and passion. I felt like if they put a full length like this EP they could have gone a bit farther. Anyway, check out some of the tracks below.

Ah, gameface. Even ten years later, I still think it’s hilarious that in an age when dudes were trying to prove how ‘hardcore’ they were, these guys named both a song and a whole ep “Cupcakes.” That pretty much sums them up.
