I think you should take the word “punk” out of your name. It does not suite you very well. You seem to be stuck on the indie music thing just like all your fellow music bloggers.

well well, I knew this day would come.
E’ tu David A R?
So my punk credentials are in question now??
Hmm, do I go with the old, Punk is more of a belief and way of life and a culture, more than it is a style of music? Or do I go with, punk is a stale genre that has limited by it’s own parameters and will continue to be stale till the day that people are able to see that it is more than the music. It was about not judging others, believing in your own set of rules and being willing to tell any stranger off the street to fuck off and die. Or, should I go with…
David, Do I go down to your job at McDonald’s and kick the broom out of your hand??
Thanks for reading.

Kick the fucking mop!!!
Too bad even something as simple as a name with a poinent history brings out some haters. Thanks for the laugh and the great Minor Threat treat, a great example of why you are and will always be “the punk guy.” Better wear your docs tomorow though, just in case.

Im thinking that McDonalds joke was funnier when George Carlton started using it more than 20 years ago. You know whats funnier than stolen George Carlton jokes, the fact that you sent an email to an obvioulsly work related email adress that did not end in @mcdonalds.com.
Observation is obviously not your strongest suite or you would have noticed that 95 percent of the music you post on your site is in no way punk related. And yes i am calling you punk credentials into acountability, owning both a studded belt and a my chemical romance t-shirt does not make you punk.

david,
kris probably knows more about music (and not just punk) then most people. The great thing about this is, with this knowledge, it does not limit him. He is just as at home with a cole porter record as he is with a minor threat 7inch.
If you want to call his “punkness” into question, I am sure he would have no problem sitting down with you and going over the history of punk, and what genres influenced it.
and…kris was about 2 seconds away from selling ian mackaye a sharpie. Which is probably far and away punker than what you have ever done
love

Oh well, i will get my stolen jokes, and unoriginal oppinions on indie bands form the thousands of other blog sites that actuly are what they claim. Claiming to be what you are not is definately not punk.

oh that last comment was just for you. though im sure youll post it to boost your punk cred.

David,
Do you have like a PHD in Punk Rock? How can I get one? Honestly, I have been three credits short, for years now.
Haven’t you looked at this site? I mean the dude has posted crass, fear, TSOL, minor threat and a full misfits concert. Not one other site on hypem.com has done that.

david
if you’re still reading these, take a fucking look at your old record collection, now throw them all away because you missed something. I can stand behind the sharpie to Ian, i was there 5 minutes later. Good luck finding a more punk friendly blog, maybe Good Charolette has one…

I love how the proof of my punkness has boiled down to me talking to Ian regarding a garage sale sharpie. AWESOME!
