Ok, so sometimes I really feel like a geek. Recently, I was cleaning out my itunes, due to a new laptop and I came across some bands that I haven’t listened to in forever. One of those bands are Clikitat IkAtowi. A band I was really into in the mid 90′s. Sometimes brooding, a bit scream-y, very noisy and rhythmic with a strange name: right up my alley!

After a quick Hype Machine search, only one blog has posted a song about them, and even more “of course-r”, it was Can You See the Sunset from the Southside, my brother in true indie rock geekness. Anyway, check out three songs from their River of Souls record. Released in ’98 on Gravity Records.
Clikitat Ikatowi- Feeding of the Birds
Clikitat Ikatowi- The Trials and Tribulations of Diana
Clikitat Ikatowa – The Appliance .
Does anyone like this ?? It’s a little rough, I know.

[...] So once again, I go to do a post about a band that I was nuts about a few years ago, check the Hype Machine and what do I see? Me and Can you see the Sunset from the Southside once AGAIN, being the only two geeks online posting about them… Oh well, I think he posted just one song… So here’s Boy’s Life, part of the 90’s Crank Records indie scene. They put out slow moving creepy landscape music (most of the time). And I loved it. Actually remembered using one of their songs in a photo exhibit I did in college. Anyway, Hope you like… [...]

[...] Don’t ask me why I have been so nostalgic this week, first this POST and then this POST, I just can’t get enough of older music that I used to love. My next door neighboor while living in SF gave me the vinyl version of The Trans Megetti Steal the Jet Keys. Even though, I owned vinyl before this LP, I don’t think I ever really appreciated another record as much up to that point. I instantly, and have since, always admired this New Jersey indie rock band. They have since broken up and I hear they are possibly surfing around the world or something but please check out this incredibly melodic, dynamic punk influenced band. *also I realized that I had posted about this band before… so enjoy some more music from them..
