So when I did one of my college internships, it was at a very prominent SF punk record label. It wasn’t the only internship that I did and I actually did another one at the leading “alt” radio station, Live 105. Anyway, when I was at this label, I worked with this amazingly cute punk girl. She would always talk about her boyfriend’s band and I usually ignored her cause we all know the rule about the coworker’s boyfriend’s band, for the most part. Then he came and visited her and I was wow’ed that she was dating Davey Havok from AFI. Now this was about 95 and AFi was getting really big in the Gilman Street / Berkeley Square scene…

I don’t know if she still dates him. I somewhat doubt it… Either way, this is what AFI sounded like when they didn’t take themselves so seriously and I worked with Davey’s cute punk g/f. This is from their first LP, Answer that and Stay Fashionable.
