“By dramatizing their lives with candor, sympathy and a healthy strain of skepticism, the director, Esther Bell, offers an antidote to the whimsy and solipsism endemic to much of what passes for independent filmmaking.” - Nathan Lee, The New York Times
“Esther Bell advances from promising to impressive with her second feature… Exist provides a character-based view of a seldom seen U.S. underground way of life sans preachiness or melodrama.” - Dennis Harvey, Variety

THE APIARY LAUNCHES “THE COMING” IN LOS ANGELES - WWW.THECOMING.ORG
New York City’s NUMBER ONE RATED blog-magazine about news and gossip in the comedy underground, The Apiary, is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2nd satellite spinoff–the Los Angeles outpost, The Coming.
Comics and writers come to LA to get paid and get their ideas produced. The citizens of Hollywood deserve enthusiastic and tan reporters who are not afraid TO GO INSIDE and chronicle the people, the art, the journey, the gossip, and the business of the LA comedy world. We’ll publish the pictures of comedy celebrities that TMZ.com is too scared to publish! (We know where you live, Bruce Vilanch.)
The Coming will follow the blogging methods and practices set by The Apiary and its Chicago sister site, The Bastion, by documenting improv, stand up, sketch, comedic theatre, internet news, deals, industry events, local happenings, and ALL of the things that effect THE WORLD AROUND YOU. The Coming is edited by Los Angeles inhabitant/comedy fan, Rick Paulas, an editor of Duct Tape and Rouge, and contributor to McSweeney’s Internet Tendancy. Kurt Adam is a contributing writer.

Yes back again. Jesus, I watch too much DVR. Here is what my DVR teaches me.
1. As much as I want to hate MTV2, I still Dvr Subterranean on Sundays at Midnight and oh yeah, I really like it: This week they featured the new Cold War Kids, new Arctic Monkeys, new Peter Bjorn and John, the Shins, new Annuals, new Trail of Dead, POS feat. Slug and the new Shins videos. Damn. Right?
2. Slayer on Kimmel was really disturbing in a way that might mother might have been watching!
3. The computer graphics in Weird Science are comparable to those in TRON. Sort of Awesome!
4. People who watch mtv2 stink, need ringtones, need to lose to lose weight with Hydroxycut and sometimes buy Volkswagens from Swedes posing as German Hip Hop artists.

MORE TBA
Since March 2006 González has toured North America extensively, selling out shows in every major market. He has appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Carson Daly Show, and with Zero 7 on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. González is also a featured vocalist on the Grammy nominated Zero 7 album ‘The Garden, appearing on four songs including a stunning Zero 7 re-work of González’ own song ‘Crosses.’
In 2006 González also performed at multiple music festivals including Austin’s Austin City Limits, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl (with Zero 7) Seattle’s Bumbershoot, Chicago’s Intonation Music Festival, and Toronto’s V Fest, as well as on NPR’s All Things Considered, KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and on AOL’s The Interface. He was the surprise guest at a special KEXP members-only performance at Seattle’s The Triple Door, performed at Spin Magazine’s ‘Spinhouse Live’ showcase series, performed with and opened for Zero 7 on their 2006 tour, and was a featured artist at the Gen Art curated Starbucks Salon during New York City’s Fall Fashion Week.
González also recently appeared in the All Star Tribute to the Beatles as part of George Martin’s honorary induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame. The all-star ensemble was backed by a 31-piece orchestra and included fellow luminaries such as Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell, Queen’s Roger Taylor and UK songbird Corinne Bailey Rae.
In December 2006 González released the “iTunes Live Session EP” which features tracks from his debut album “Veneer” as well as the B-side ‘Suggestions’ and the previously unreleased song ‘Storm.’ Most recently, The Commission of the European Union awarded González a 2006 European Border Breaker Award. This annual award honors artists who have recorded the highest sales for a debut album within the European Union, but outside of their country of production.
With his crystal-clear singing voice and vibrant, classically-inspired playing, González has been hailed as one of today’s most remarkable new artists - testament to the irrefutable power of one man and a guitar. “Veneer” - the Swedish tunesmith’s acclaimed Mute Records debut (reissued April 4) - captures his magical sound in its purest state, simply beautiful and beautifully simple.
González is currently at home in Sweden working on new material for his second solo album (to be released 2007 on Mute North America).
