So after a day of work, (and missing cold war kids) I ran over to catch two small venue performances by snowden and apples in stereo. Snowden was good and the vocals reminded me of someone and bothered me the whole time. Anyone? Apples in stereo were Ok. Doing their version of pavement lite, I decided it was time to drink.

Heading over to lit, to meet up with a friend of a friend, who happened to be the boy who bothered wienerdog in welcome to the dollhouse. He manages a band that I missed while grabbing a slice.

Then we ran over to see the panthers and black lips at sin é for the Vice showcase. We stepped up, had to pay for our first show of the night. 10 dollars was so worth it let me tell you.

The panthers played an amazing set featuring almost all new material.
Black Sabbath has been reborn! Then the black lips came on. Imagine the sonics meet the zombies meet GG Allin. Insane!

From there, we squeezed back over to LIT to see Sean Na Na but couldn’t stand the heat, the DIM MAKsters and the La Scenesters. (more on that soon).. So we talked to a friend at Mercury Lounge, he told us that FORWARD RUSSIA! hadn’t started yet and if we came over, we could still catch them.

We decided that if we could not pay, somehow, we’d go. We (Dan Myth and I) walked up and showed the front door our smattering of handstamps we had collected over the long night, hoping one would be close to the one Mercury was handing out. By some grace of God, we fooled the front door guy and got in. Forward Russia was really energetic and a lot of fun. I took a lot of pictures and felt like I was at an old At the Drive-in show. Lots of fun. ..
