July 2006

So I am going to Chicago this weekend for Pitchfork Music festival and pre-show...

I will be offline till Saturday or Sunday but I will definitely post some pictures. Rumor has it, my hotel has some great amenities… more on that soon..

If you guys, don’t know what to do this weekend, you should try this if you are in NYC.. or this (free) … or this (free) … or this (also free.)

Anyway, here are some unreleased and rare songs for you.

Radiohead (live on KROQ acoustic) – No Surprises

I am DJing at Niagara tonight with my friend Jill. Come by if you like. Say Hello.

Sometimes, I overdo it on this site. Oh well, I have been listening to this same song over and over and have to give it to you… Please buy it here.

Midlake – Roscoe ( I already posted this once but give it a second listen)

Midlake – We Gathered in Spring (Doesn’t it sound a bit like Travis or “the Bends” era Radiohead?)

Be their myspace friend here.

Does this song belong in a John Hughes movie or what?

bfast

Material Issue – Valerie Loves Me

A nice Dub version of the White Stripes.

The Dead 60′s – Seven Nation Army (BBC Radio 1)

A week of rain and shows and alcohol…

Went to see Don Caballero last night and didn’t realize that they didn’t go on till like Midnight. Ugh. Why would anyone play a show at Knitting Factory and then not go on till Midnight?? We got there at like 930 and the second band was already on and it sounded like they played the same song for about 45 mins straight. So in the ‘bar area’ in Knitting Factory, they are doing some construction or whatever so there are no seats, no tables and no AC. Double Ugh.. The third band went on and they really really wanted to be Pelican.. Finally, after 4 or 5 beers, and two and a half hours later, Don Cab went on. Let me say this, Damon Che is really fun to watch. That being said, the new band sort of sucked and it felt a bit like everyone was trying to keep up with him. Oh well… A slice of pizza later, I was asleep.

Next weekend, my friend Yancy and I are heading to the pitchfork festival. My friend Ken, got us some sweet rooms, so we are going to be living it up in Chitown.. Can I say Chitown?

I saw half of Clerks 2 today. Don’t ask. Ill probably finish it tomorrow..

Here are some pictures from the last few days.. Enjoy. kristian.

UCB A day in the Park with the Upright Citizen’s Brigade. More pictures here (not taken by me)

Church When you are really hot, you can always find salvation (lots of AC) in a church

Sign Anyone see this? We are almost like London now…

Bree My friend and local bartender.
Building Uptown somewhere.

Before I post these two songs, you SHOULD absolutely buy (read; Preorder) from the Insound. I would only post these songs cause I am a HUGE fan of at the drive in and the Mars Volta. So with that being said. A b-side and a new song.

The Mars Volta – A plague upon Hissing (from … shit, I don’t know, maybe a bside of single? anyone???)

The Mars Volta – Vermicide (from the new album out soon, Amputechture) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Mars

PS Don’t sue me. I am all sued-out…

What Made Milwaukee Famous – I Decide

I went here last night. Saw old friends…

Anyone interested in that Don Cab show?
