So back when I was completely obsessed with Fugazi and At the Drive-in and Lifetime ( and so forth and so on…)
A friend turned me on to these two groups from England called Spy Vs. Spy and Bob Tilton.

They were in the same vein as Fugazi and similar DIschord Bands. I even heard Bob Tilton called the English Fugazi once.
Anyway, I never got to see them live but I really loved all the releases by both of these bands. Not a fan of either of their names.. but what the hey..
Here they are..

Hi there. I saw Bob Tilton a lot of times in London and they were usually pretty great. The first tome was at a place called The Falcon which has since closed down and they were untouchably brilliant. They were doing all the things that I was wanting to do musically as a lonely 17 year old. I saw them once in Islington with The Promise Ring which was probably one of the last times they played London and they were horrible. Plauged with equipment problems and just generally off target. They spent ages between songs tuning up but without turning the distortion off which can’t of helped. They were on and off in 20 minutes. A few of them did a band called Wolved Of Greece after B/T which was cool from what I remember. I really like the first two Tilton singles. I played them both this morning in fact…

I’ve never heard the English Fugazi comparison though. That’s so far off.
